However we are planning instead to set up a competitive donation stand at our wedding – Holly has chosen the Auckland SPCA and Duncan has chosen the Auckland City Mission. We hope instead of a gift, you bring a cash donation on the day for your chosen charity to help those less fortunate.

SPCA Auckland:

The SPCA helps protect over 45,000 animals in New Zealand every year. Animals who are sick, injured, abused or simply abandoned.

The SPCA is the only charity with the power to protect all animals including prosecuting people under the Animal Welfare Act 1999. With under one percent government funding, they rely heavily on the generosity of those who choose to make a difference.

Their founding ethos is ‘to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves’.

Auckland City Mission:

The Auckland City Mission provides a broad range of services which are generally unseen. Their Foodlink program regularly supplies food to around 50 food banks and community groups across the region.

On average, the Auckland City Mission distributes over $1,700,000 worth of food every year.

Beyond that, they provide crisis care and community support, advocacy, and homeless services to the most vulnerable in our community every day of the year.
